A talk by Penny Ward, ex-Sites and Monuments Officer, Shropshire C.C. Penny will be describing this mammoth task which has received National Lottery funding of £20.7 million for the first cast-iron framed building in the world.

Talk: Starting Your Family History; Hints, Tips and Pitfalls by Helen Culshaw, Researcher. Helen's professional use of search engines and 40 years experience of Family History research will be shared to help you get started on your own projects using on-line sources and original documents.

Talk: 30 years at Shropshire Archives by Mary McKenzie, Archives Manager. Mary will explore the changes she experienced during her time working at the Shropshire Archives. She would also be interested to hear about your own experiences of research at the archives.
Talk: Newport: A Townscape in Its Landscape. Richard Hoyle, formerly Professor of Local and Regional History and the current Chairman of Victoria County History (VCH) Shropshire. This is an event being run jointly with VCH to help launch the start of several publications on the history of Newport. The talk will present fascinating new research on the landscape of Newport and include recently uncovered information from medieval maps and written sources.
