Talk: Newport: A Townscape in Its Landscape.  Richard Hoyle, formerly Professor of Local and Regional History and the current Chairman of Victoria County History (VCH) Shropshire.  This is an event being run jointly with VCH to help launch the start of several publications on the history of Newport.  The talk will present fascinating new research on the landscape of Newport and include recently uncovered information from medieval maps and written sources.  Tea, coffee and cakes to follow the presentation.
