In 2012 members of the Newport History Society fulfilled a long held ambition, to open a Heritage Centre in Newport. Rare hoard of old coins is to go on display A hoard of ancient coins and the remains of the pot in which they were found will go on display together for the first time this weekend.The Sheriffhales Roman Coin Hoard was unearthed by Terry Hayward in 2009.
